In the world of online gaming, it does not matter if you are left handed or right handed. What is important is you are playing and having a blast. In fact, in gaming more than almost any other leisure activity, being left handed matters very little. Maybe you’ll have to break down and get a mouse for lefties – no big deal, and then you can have all the fun in the world playing your fave games. Here are some tips on how to be a better gamer.

You want to be a full patch part of a MMORPG (Massive MultiPlayer Online Role Playing Game)? Thought so, well you’ll need to keep yourself informed about the game and what’s new with it. Doing so is a step above merely owning the equipment like the keyboard shortcuts (shorts) or the fabled left-handed mouse (if you’re a… you know).

You’re also going to need to do some extracurricular reading at the appropriate forums and other net locales pertinent to your game of choice. What’s the purpose for doing so? So that you will know when new patches and fixes for the game are released and when special events happen. Some of these things are only announced on forums or blogs so try your best to keep up. An adequate net connection speed will help. Dial-up speeds kind of suck, let’s face it, so hopefully you can do something or go somewhere if you currently have it. Few things are more frustrating than trying to play serious games from a PC that can’t quite cut the speed mustard – ask people on the street for money until you have enough to upgrade – we really mean to be creative. As with all, or most, things in life; make sure you know what you’re going to need so you can compete on a serious level. You can easily find out what kind of performance you’ll need just by looking at the specs on the game box. Take the time to check everything out so you’re not angry if you run it and it’s working at about 50%.

There will be people who are not very good at the game, but don’t beat them up about it. If anyone else criticizes you, or is negative, then ignore it and don’t show it if it bothers you. As you know, when a big negative flame session breaks out, rarely does it accomplish anything positive and it usually just takes the fun out of it.

For example, if someone is having a bad day, then just maybe say something in private, and always be polite. When words are spoken in public it tends to have a negative impact on others.

You can get a lot from online gaming. It’s fun interacting with all the other players. You can exercise your imagination. The better you play, of course, the more fun you’ll have. This takes a variety of skills, such as socializing well, learning all the ins and outs of the game, and just getting in enough practice. It’s not worth worrying about too much. Remember: the first rule of online gaming is to have fun with it!
